President Erdoğan attends online meeting of the Coalition of Volunteers Leaders' Summit on Ukraine
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the online meeting of the Coalition of Volunteers Leaders' Summit on Ukraine.
Communications Director Burhanettin Duran stated in a post on his social media account regarding the meeting, "Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, attended the online meeting of the Coalition of Volunteers Leaders' Summit on Ukraine. The meeting addressed the latest situation in the Ukraine-Russia War, the steps taken to end the war, and peace efforts. Our President stated at the meeting that Turkey will continue its diplomatic efforts to facilitate direct contact between the parties to ensure a just and lasting peace as soon as possible."

Explaining that President Erdoğan stated that direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine could be held in Istanbul, Duran said, "Our President expressed that direct negotiations between the parties could be held in Istanbul and that Turkey is in contact with the Ukrainian and Russian sides for this purpose. During the meeting, the view was expressed that a ceasefire covering energy and port infrastructure could be an arrangement that would provide favorable conditions for the negotiation of a comprehensive peace agreement between the parties as Turkey. Participants, including representatives from 35 countries, exchanged views on what needs to be done for lasting peace."
