President Erdoğan holds phone call with Canadian Prime Minister Carney
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
During the phone call between President Erdoğan and Canadian Prime Minister Carney, the leaders discussed Turkey-Canada bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues.
AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan stated during the meeting that great importance is attached to deepening relations between the two countries, and that there is significant potential for cooperation in many areas, particularly in energy, the defense industry, and air transport.
Erdoğan noted that Turkey continues its efforts uninterruptedly to establish peace and stability in the region, and that views on many issues overlap with its ally, Canada.
President Erdoğan invited Prime Minister Mark Carney to the NATO Ankara Summit and the COP31 Summit to be hosted by Turkey, and also expressed his desire to host Prime Minister Carney in Turkey for an official visit before the end of 2026.
