President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. During the call, bilateral relations between the two countries, the tension between Somalia and Ethiopia, as well as regional and global developments were discussed.
The statement from the Directorate of Communications included the following:
"Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, held a phone call with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
During the call, bilateral relations between Turkey and Somalia, the tension between Somalia and Ethiopia, as well as regional and global developments were discussed.
President Erdoğan emphasized the importance of cooperation between Turkey and Somalia during the call.
President Erdoğan stated that Turkey will continue its efforts to resolve the tension between Somalia and Ethiopia, and that concrete results are expected from the second round of talks to be held in Turkey to establish reconciliation between the two countries."
