President Erdoğan: Israel, with its insidious goals, is unaware of what it is doing

The Cabinet Meeting, chaired by Erdoğan, has concluded at Beştepe. Erdoğan made statements. Emphasizing that Israel's attacks on Iran have very insidious goals, Erdoğan said, "Israel is unaware of what it is doing."

President Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

-I also greet our Palestinian brothers and sisters who are trying to observe the Eid al-Adha with affection. Despite some heedless people among us, our nation has strived to fulfill its duty of brotherhood by believing in the power of solidarity during this holiday, as befits it. I also extend my congratulations to our security forces. I wish God's mercy upon those who lost their lives in traffic accidents. We made intense efforts to prevent loss of life this year.

-I would like to share some striking figures. Between June 4 and 9, 16.3 million vehicles passed through our highways. 2 million 783 thousand people used the railways. We saw off 3.9 million passengers at our airports. 1 million 152 thousand passengers used Istanbul Airport. We have once again seen the importance of the massive investments we have made to develop our transportation infrastructure.

-We laid the foundation for the Delice-Çorum stage of the Ankara-Kırıkkale-Çorum-Samsun project. We will connect the port of Samsun with the port of Mersin. We will ease the cargo traffic in the Istanbul and Çanakkale straits. We plan to commission the line, which consists of 5 stations, 8 tunnels, 26 bridges, and viaducts, in 2029.

-We have signed an important agreement on the KAAN project, which some people said looked like a radiator heater when we introduced it 2 years ago. An agreement has been reached for the sale of 48 KAANs to Indonesia.

-The Russia-Ukraine war continues with its severe consequences, and the tension between Pakistan and India retains its potential danger. The crimes Israel commits in Gaza break all our hearts. Now it has launched an attack against Iran. It is understood that the attacks, which began by targeting nuclear facilities, have insidious goals.

-Since Friday, we have been conducting intense diplomatic traffic to stop the conflicts. We have stated that the solution to the problem is possible through diplomacy and dialogue. We have clearly stated that we are ready to do whatever is required of us. The consequences of trying to solve problems that can be resolved at the table by bombing, regardless of whether it is civilian or military, are dangerously unpredictable. We will repeat that lessons should be learned from history.

-Israel is actually unaware of what it is doing; it may realize it, but by then it will be too late. In this ancient geography, no country is limited to its own borders. Attacking the Palestinian people and their lands is not an event limited to just a few million people. Attacking Iran is also not an event that only concerns Iran. Every step taken in our region without considering these truths leads to other disasters. The end of oppression is deep regret.

-We need to see the message given by what is happening in our region very well. If you are not self-sufficient, if you have not reached a level of deterrence, your job is very difficult; at any moment, someone can bring their fist down on your head and put you under tribute. As a nation, we would prefer to die rather than live with such shame. We have demonstrated this will many times in our history full of struggles. It does not happen with words, literature, or empty rhetoric. For this, you will work, produce, and sweat.

-When we came to power, there was no accumulation in our country to fill the gap in terms of deterrence in the defense industry. We immediately rolled up our sleeves and canceled the source of ready-made purchases, except for urgent needs. We have not forgotten those inside who tried to sabotage every job done by disparaging it. The same mentality continues its sabotage. They are citizens of these countries physically, but they are 'mankurts' (brainwashed people) who have given their souls to imperialists. We have become one of the few countries in the world, especially regarding UAVs. We are developing and producing our own vehicles and systems.

-Weakening our country through tension politics is not in anyone's interest. We do not want the opposition to fall into the same mistake they made at the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war for the sake of playing to the gallery. As a nation, we have overcome the obstacles placed in front of us one by one. We have disrupted the games played on us and emerged into the light. Today, Turkey's greatest need is the politics of brotherhood. I want to underline that there has been no deviation in turning Turkey into an influential power in the world. We are stronger today than yesterday, and we will be even stronger tomorrow than today.
