President Erdoğan joins the 'daycare debate' with these words: 'Believe me, it becomes unbearable'

The daycare debate in politics continues. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu stated that a letter had been sent demanding the closure of daycares opened by municipalities.

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin responded to the claims made by Özel and İmamoğlu.

Stating that the letter sent to the municipalities was not about daycares but covered kindergartens and nursery classes, Minister Tekin recalled the decision made by the Constitutional Court in 2007 and said, "Municipalities cannot open kindergartens."

DAYCARE STATEMENT FROM AKP CHAIRMAN AND PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN

Erdoğan made a statement on his social media account regarding the daycare debate that has caused tension between the two parties, and warned of 'ignorance' by reminding that the letter sent was for kindergartens.

Here are those lines from Erdoğan:

"The Ministry of National Education is sending a letter to municipalities reminding them that the kindergarten service, which falls under its own jurisdiction, cannot be provided in the daycares they operate. Behind the necessity of this warning lies a regulation that the CHP itself took to the Constitutional Court and had annulled.

Just like the issue of student scholarships, the CHP is once again resorting to the politics of exploitation on a matter for which it is personally responsible.

Following the arrival of the letter to the municipalities, the CHP Chairman and some mayors are pouring into the squares and challenging us with absurd expressions in their own minds.

Ignorance is a deficiency that can be tolerated on its own, but when ignorance and arrogance come together, believe me, it becomes unbearable.

In the latest incident, the picture displayed by the CHP and some mayors is exactly this.

The Republic of Turkey is a state of law and order.

The rules for opening a daycare, a kindergarten, a high school, or a university are clear. There are standards that every educational institution must comply with and possess.

No one can say, "I do not care about the rules, I do not follow the laws."

They are so cowardly, incompetent, and in such complete despair that they hide behind families and children for the sake of political opportunism.

Actually, there is no side of them to be taken seriously, but we are saddened on behalf of our country and our nation."
