President Erdoğan meets with Barzani
AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan received Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) of Iraq, at the Presidential Complex. The meeting addressed Turkey-Iraq relations, cooperation with the KRG, and regional developments.

The following statement was made by the Directorate of Communications regarding the meeting:
"Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, received Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) of Iraq, at the Presidential Complex. The meeting addressed Turkey-Iraq relations, cooperation with the KRG, and regional developments.
During the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that Turkey aims for peace and stability in the region, that it is of critical importance to keep Iraq away from the cycle of violence in the region, and that we are following the steps taken by the KRG in this direction. Our President expressed his wish that the upcoming Council of Representatives elections in Iraq would be beneficial for all the people of Iraq and emphasized that he does not view the peace and security of Iraq as separate from that of our country.
President Erdoğan noted that he welcomed the agreement reached between the Iraqi Central Government and the KRG in the field of oil, and that reaching a consensus on the Development Road Project in the short term would be in the interest of the entire region. Our President stated that they are determined to succeed in the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process and that we consider the continuation of the KRG's support for the territorial integrity and unity of Syria to be important.
The meeting was attended by the President of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) İbrahim Kalın, Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, and Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç."
