President Erdoğan meets with German Chancellor Scholz
AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan met with German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who arrived in Istanbul yesterday evening.
German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived in Istanbul on the evening of Friday, October 18, as part of a one-day visit to Turkey.
AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan received German Chancellor Scholz at the Working Office in Dolmabahçe. The meeting was held behind closed doors.
In the meeting between Scholz and Erdoğan, it is expected that topics such as the war in Ukraine and developments in the Middle East, as well as migration, the European Union (EU), bilateral relations, and economic policies will be discussed, followed by a joint press conference by the two leaders.
The plane carrying Scholz and his accompanying delegation landed at Istanbul Airport at 22:03 yesterday. The German Chancellor was welcomed at Istanbul Airport by Turkey's Ambassador to Berlin, Ahmet Başar Şen, and other officials.
