President Erdoğan held a joint press conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic at the Presidential Complex.
Highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:
(With Serbia) Our total trade volume reached the 3.5 billion dollar level last year, and we are approaching our 5 billion dollar target step by step.
While there were around 100 Turkish-capital firms operating in Serbia in 2015, today that number has exceeded 1,500, and the total investment amount has reached 300 million dollars.
Today, Turkey is the 2nd most popular tourism destination for Serbian tourists. Our citizens also rank first among tourists visiting Serbia.
In a period of increasing global uncertainty, we as Turkey are working for the establishment of peace and tranquility in our immediate vicinity and beyond. We never neglect the Balkans.
I hope the decisions we have taken today will be beneficial for our country and our region."
President Erdoğan also noted that they will visit Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, between May and June.
Following the meeting, the two leaders will attend an official dinner.
