Support from President Erdoğan for Mihalgazi Mayor Güneş: 'You have now made a revolutionary turn'

Erdoğan spoke by phone with Zeynep Güneş, the Mayor of Mihalgazi in Eskişehir, who was criticized on social media by IYI Party member Mehmet Emin Korkmaz over her attire.

AKP Deputy Chairman Faruk Acar shared the phone conversation between AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan and Güneş on his social media account with the following words:

"On the other end of the phone call that took place during our Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting is our Mihalgazi Mayor Zeynep Güneş. With her demeanor, sincerity, and upright stance, as long as we have such a leader, Turkey will never be brought to its knees."

During the phone conversation with Güneş while at the AKP's MYK meeting, Erdoğan stated the following:

"You are coming to our group meeting on Wednesday with one hundred women. You are coming all in white. You are already radiant. You have now made a revolutionary turn. Look at what they are saying. They are saying, 'Bring this civil constitution and save us from these issues.' My dear girl, we are already doing our best to save us from the coup constitution. We are working on it right now. Hopefully, we will succeed in that too. But of course, Mihalgazi will have achieved this. Together, hopefully."
