President Erdoğan: The world looks at our defense industry with envy

Erdoğan made important statements at the "Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy Graduation Ceremony" in Ankara.

I am very pleased to be with you at this graduation ceremony. Through you, I send my greetings and love to all members of our gendarmerie and coast guard organizations who serve selflessly in our provinces, our districts, in the mountains, on the plains, in villages, along border lines, and in our seas. I pray for the success of all our security units who perform their duties with a high sense of consciousness so that our flag may wave proudly both in our country and abroad. Today, I once again commemorate with mercy our martyrs who gave their lives for this sacred homeland, this sacred state, and this sacred nation, which is a legacy of the martyrs. I offer my gratitude to our heroic veterans and wish each of them a healthy, peaceful, and prosperous life with their families.

Today, a total of 5,915 of our brothers and sisters are graduating from the academy, including 1,142 officers and 4,773 non-commissioned officers. A total of 16 of our officers, 10 from brotherly Azerbaijan and 6 from friendly and brotherly Kazakhstan, are also sharing in the joy of graduation. I congratulate each of our 5,915 officers and non-commissioned officers individually, especially those who ranked at the top. I find it particularly meaningful, valuable, and important that 504 of our female officers and non-commissioned officers are part of this picture of pride. I am proud, on behalf of myself, my country, and my nation, of you, my brothers and sisters, who will add strength to the power of our Gendarmerie and Coast Guard organizations. I especially ask you never to forget this: You are not only the children of your families, but also the children of this nation. You will crown today's accumulation of knowledge with tomorrow's victories. Never forget this: You are not only the children of your families, but also the children of this nation. You will carry Turkey, which is an island of peace in its region, to much better places. I wish you great success in the duties you will undertake all across our heavenly homeland.

We are reinforcing this with our military deterrence, our multi-dimensional diplomatic moves, and our strategic partnerships. The world looks at our defense industry with envy. We are strengthening our deep-rooted institutions with our competent, reliable, and qualified staff. We are reuniting Turkey, which had high walls built between it and its past, with its history, its identity, and its geography. Look, Turkey is currently one of the countries that is taking responsibility for resolving conflicts through peaceful means, both in its region and in the world. With the services you will provide to our state and our nation, you will make this Turkey much stronger and much more influential. Reaching the goal of a terror-free Turkey is of vital importance, and we will resolve this issue permanently, hand in hand as state and nation. The law accepted in the Parliament is a historic step on this path. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, especially our People's Alliance partner Mr. Bahçeli and our Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş. Hopefully, we will sing new songs of brotherhood in a Turkey where the shadow of terror has been lifted.
