President Erdoğan: We are in harmony with Pakistan on every issue

Highlights from the statements of AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan are as follows:

"These mutual contacts demonstrate the exceptional level that relations between our countries have reached. In the meeting I held with my dear brother today, we exchanged views on regional and global issues in addition to our bilateral relations.

OUR SUPPORT FOR PAKISTAN IS PERMANENT

As you know, Turkey and Pakistan are among the leading countries that demonstrate the strongest will in the fight against terrorism. I would like to take this opportunity to wish God's mercy upon our brothers who were martyred in the terrorist attacks in Pakistan and a speedy recovery to the wounded. Our support for Pakistan in its fight against all forms of terrorism is permanent.

During my visit to Pakistan in February, we signed a total of 25 documents in the fields of trade, water resources, agriculture, energy, culture, family and social services, science, banking, education, defense, and health. We observe that the decisions we made have begun to be implemented by our relevant institutions in a short time.

WE ENCOURAGE THE DEVELOPMENT OF JOINT PROJECTS

We encourage our investors, who are the locomotive of economic cooperation, to be more active in Pakistan and to develop joint projects. I discussed with my dear brother the promotion of mutual investments and the allocation of a free economic zone for our companies in Pakistan. We desire to further develop our relations in the field of military and defense industry through joint projects.

We specifically pointed to new cooperation projects in the fields of energy and critical minerals, which came to the agenda during my Minister of Energy's visit to Pakistan. We also discussed the issue of meeting the need for lecturers to teach Turkish in Pakistani universities.

"WE WILL CONTINUE OUR EFFORTS FOR PALESTINE"

Undoubtedly, the cooperation between Turkey and Pakistan makes a significant contribution to peace and stability in our regions. We are pleased to see that we act in full harmony with Pakistan on almost every issue. On this occasion, I would like to express once again that we always appreciate Pakistan's determined stance on the Palestine issue. Pakistan is one of the countries that has given the strongest reaction to the genocide in Gaza. To date, we have strived to provide the necessary support for the just cause of our Palestinian brothers in the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other platforms with Pakistan. We are determined to continue these initiatives in the coming period. We will continue to work together towards the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine with geographical integrity, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

TRAFFIC ACCIDENT IN VAN

Before I finish my words, I wish God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives in the tragic traffic accident that occurred on the Van-Hakkari road today, and a speedy recovery to our wounded. We have promptly carried out the transfer of our wounded to health institutions. As of now, their treatment continues. I wish a speedy recovery to those affected by the accident. I pray to the Almighty for patience for our families who lost their loved ones."
