President Erdoğan: We will continue our fight against physical and psychological violence in solidarity with women

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made the following statements after today's Cabinet Meeting:

-I also expressed this during our meeting with our teachers. It is wrong to turn the issue of education into a matter of ideological obsessions.

-We have made efforts to ensure that women reach the place they deserve without allowing the issue of women's rights to be instrumentalized. Of course, we do not claim to have solved all problems, but it is an indisputable fact that walls once seen as insurmountable have been torn down and many mistakes have been corrected. We will continue our fight against physical and psychological violence in solidarity with women.

-The attacks that Israel launched on Gaza on October 7, 2023, are expanding to include Lebanon, Syria, and other countries in the region. As Turkey, we are one of the countries that have given the strongest reaction to the Israeli government's aggressive policy. We are working to ensure that measures are taken to force Israel to stop the conflicts, especially through the UN. We are making efforts for the Islamic world to be of one heart.

-Let them account for their silence regarding the attacks on oppressed Syrians during the May 14-28 period. Turkey is doing more for Palestine and Lebanon than what is reflected in the press. We will stand by our brothers and sisters with all our means until the genocide stops.

-The subject of our meeting with the Emir of Qatar, who visited our country on November 14, was the genocide suffered by our brothers and sisters in Gaza, as well as bilateral relations.

-Unfairly criticizing Turkey on the Palestinian issue is a sign of bad intentions, not sensitivity. The struggle for survival under bombs in a narrow area saddens us as well. The hypocrisy ranging from the UN Security Council to international media organizations also breaks our hopes. We support the Palestinian people without fearing anyone.

-The perpetrators of genocide will surely account for the innocent blood they have shed. The issuance of an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and Gallant is a courageous decision. We support this decision.

-The volume of mining in GDP has increased 4-fold, mineral exports have increased 7-fold, and boron revenue reached 1.4 million lira in 2024. Daily production in Gabar rose to 57 thousand barrels. We have completed 84 drillings. We discovered a new reserve of 66 million barrels. We aim to conduct 143 exploration drillings. Daily production has exceeded 155 thousand barrels. In the last 1 year, we prevented 11 billion dollars in natural gas imports as a result of electricity production from renewable energy sources.

-We are turning the 70-year dream of nuclear energy into reality at the Akkuyu power plant. We provided 275 million lira in support to our citizens' bills in the first 10 months of 2024. We provide 150 kilowatt-hours of support per month to low-income citizens based on the number of people in the household. While making new breakthroughs in energy, we are also trying to fulfill our understanding of a social state.

-Negotiations regarding the 2025 budgets of our ministries are ongoing. As the Cabinet, we attach great importance to the budget process. We are sharing our vision for the coming year with the representatives of our nation. We have nothing to hide from our people. We emphasized that we are open to all kinds of constructive criticism from the opposition. But we will never allow bullying or intimidation. The scenes reflected from the Parliament have embarrassed us all and revealed that they have no concern for service.

-The effective execution of public services and ensuring that all services protect the rights of citizens remains our priority. In some incidents reflected in the public eye in recent days, an impression of weakness has been created. No one is exempt from fulfilling what the law imposes on them. The Republic of Turkey is at the service of all 85 million. We are increasing the penalties for unauthorized sirens, about which we receive many complaints from our nation. We are putting a circular regulating the inspection issue into effect today.
