President Erdoğan's 'September 12' message: We will never forget
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that 45 years have passed since the September 12 Military Coup, a dark stain on the history of democracy, and said, "We will never forget those ominous days when hundreds of thousands of our people were victimized, and thousands of our citizens were tortured, tried with the death penalty, and suffered."
AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan shared a post on his social media account regarding the 45th anniversary of the September 12 military coup, stating the following:
"45 years have passed since the September 12 Military Coup, which is a dark stain on our democratic history.
We will never forget those ominous days when hundreds of thousands of our people were victimized, and thousands of our citizens were tortured, tried with the death penalty, and suffered.
While keeping the traps set against Turkey's future through coups, memorandums, and street incidents alive in our memories, we will continue to take every necessary measure to ensure we do not encounter similar scenes again.
We will never again allow our country's development and progress to be interrupted by anti-democratic methods."
