President Erdoğan's statement on Atlas Çağlayan: It is our duty to hold them accountable
AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan made statements following the Cabinet Meeting. Addressing the stabbing death of 17-year-old Atlas Çağlayan in Güngören, Erdoğan said, "We want the criminals who murdered our young Atlas to receive the necessary lesson, especially in the judiciary. Just like our young Minguzzi, our young Atlas has also plunged us into deep sorrow. How can such a diamond-like, beautiful child be murdered so ruthlessly? It is our duty to hold them accountable."
The Presidential Cabinet Meeting, chaired by Erdoğan, has concluded.
The meeting at the Presidential Complex lasted approximately 2.5 hours.
In his statement following the cabinet meeting, Erdoğan spoke about 17-year-old Atlas, who was stabbed to death.
"IT IS OUR DUTY TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE"
"We want the criminals who murdered our young Atlas to receive the necessary lesson, especially in the judiciary. I want to state that we are determined to fulfill whatever duty falls upon us to ensure this happens.
Just like our young Minguzzi, the incident involving our young Atlas has plunged us into at least as much pain.
These are not acceptable things. It is our duty to do what is necessary by pursuing all of this, including our Minister of Justice, all judicial institutions, and the Ministry of Interior.
How can such a diamond-like, beautiful child be murdered so ruthlessly? It is our duty to hold them accountable."
