Statement from President Erdoğan on Narin: I will personally follow the case

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has issued a statement regarding 8-year-old Narin Güran, who went missing in Diyarbakır and whose lifeless body was found today.

The statement made by Erdoğan on his social media account is as follows:

"I pray for God's mercy upon our daughter Narin, whose body was reached this morning in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır. The tragic news of Narin, who was brutally and savagely murdered, has deeply wounded us all; our sorrow is indescribable.

From the moment the missing person report for our daughter Narin was received, our security forces made an intense effort to reach her alive. Unfortunately, as a result of the searches that lasted for 19 days, we did not receive news that would bring comfort to our hearts. We will ensure that those who murdered Narin are held accountable before the law. I want it to be known that I will personally follow the judicial process to ensure that those who tore our child Narin away from us receive the harshest punishment they deserve."
