INVESTIGATION BY THE CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into birgun.net Editorial Coordinator Uğur Koç, News Manager Uğur Şahin, and BirGün reporter İsmail Arı, alleging that the crimes of "publicly spreading misleading information" and "slander-defamation" were committed.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Journalist Tolga Şardan was arrested following an investigation launched due to his report titled ''What is in the 'judiciary report' that the MIT presented to the Presidency?'', and halktv.com.tr Editorial Manager Dinçer Gökçe was also detained on the same charge regarding a different report.
