Price hike for public bread in İzmir!
A price hike has been implemented for public bread in İzmir. With the increase, the price of bread has risen to 8 TL.
The price of a 210-gram loaf of bread produced by the Public Bread Factory in İzmir has been increased from 5 liras to 8 liras. The new pricing regulation will be effective starting January 20.
In a written statement issued by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, it was noted that "the prices of bread produced at the Public Bread Factory, affiliated with Grand Plaza Gıda Turizm AŞ, have been readjusted in order to provide citizens with healthy and affordable bread."
The statement expressed that "in line with the goal of bringing hygienic and healthy bread to the people of İzmir, the cheapest bread in İzmir will continue to be offered for sale by the public bread service."
The price of public bread, which was 7 TL last year, had been reduced to 5 TL after İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Cemil Tugay took office.
