A prison sentence of 11 months and 20 days has been handed down to former CHP Deputy Chairman Eren Erdem on charges of 'insulting the President'. It was stated that Eren Erdem, who has been notified of the sentence, will surrender to the prosecutor's office within 10 days.
Barış Yarkadaş announced the sentence given to Eren Erdem, who served as a CHP Istanbul MP for the 25th and 26th terms, on his social media account.

According to Barış Yarkadaş's statement, Eren Erdem was sentenced to 11 months and 20 days in prison for "insulting the President".
Stating that a summons was sent to Erdem by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Yarkadaş said, "The sentence has been served to Erdem."
Noting that the document includes information that Eren Erdem must report to the prosecutor's office within 10 days with two photographs, Yarkadaş said, "I just spoke with Eren. My dear friend Eren said he would surrender to the prosecutor's office within 10 days."
