Pro-government journalist Nagehan Alçı finds Özgür Özel 'excessively harsh'

Recent judicial operations targeting CHP-run municipalities have raised tensions in the political arena. Following the operations conducted on June 3, 11 CHP mayors, including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, were arrested.

NAGEHAN ALÇI: ÖZEL IS PLAYING WITH FIRE

In statements made on the social media platform X, Nagehan Alçı criticized Özgür Özel's remarks: 'If 5 million people come with no intention of returning when necessary, that ballot box will come.'

Alçı argued that these expressions harm Turkey and maintained that Özel's tone is dangerous. Emphasizing that the CHP leader needs to change his strategy, Alçı stated that Özel is 'playing with fire.'

'I HOPE MR. ÖZGÜR SURPRISES US'

Alçı also touched upon the results of a survey conducted by Metropoll Research between May 8-22. 69.9% of survey participants believe that President Erdoğan and Özgür Özel should come together to reduce political tension. This view is supported by 69.5% of AKP voters, 66.5% of CHP voters, 86.4% of MHP voters, and 76.1% of DEM voters.

Calling on Özgür Özel to develop a new language and strategy during the holiday break, Alçı said, 'I hope Mr. Özgür surprises us.'
