Following a complaint filed to CİMER by a municipal employee against Deputy Mayor Özgür Örnek, teams from the Muğla Provincial Gendarmerie Command conducted an operation at the municipality in the morning hours under the instructions of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

As a result of the searches conducted at Köyceğiz Municipality, numerous documents and digital materials were seized, and Deputy Mayor Özgür Örnek was taken into custody at his home.

A striking detail emerged following the operation against Köyceğiz Municipality.

While the operation was carried out this morning, it was observed that the pro-government Yeni Şafak newspaper had published a report during the night hours regarding which party holds the majority in the Köyceğiz Municipality and its municipal council.
