Prof. Dr. Naci Görür evaluates the earthquake in Erzincan
The Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute announced that a 4.2-magnitude earthquake occurred in Tercan, Erzincan. While citizens panicked during the tremor, Earth Scientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür issued a statement.
The epicenter of the earthquake was reported as the Oğulveren settlement. The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) announced that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 6.8 kilometers.
Earth Scientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made a statement following the earthquake. Sharing on his social media account, Görür said:
"A 4.2-magnitude earthquake occurred in Oğulveren-Tercan/Erzincan. The earthquake took place on the probable extension of the strike-slip Palandöken Fault. No fault line is visible in Oğulveren."
