Computer engineer and academic Prof. Dr. Cem Say stated in a post on his social media account, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of Boğaziçi University's legendary professor, Prof. Dr. Oya Başak."
Say also recalled that Prof. Başak was one of the 10 academics whose university access cards were cancelled.
Oya Başak's funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 27, at Bebek Mosque following the noon prayer.
