Proposal submitted to Parliament: Another professional group to receive 'Green Passport'
A new proposal submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) will provide visa facilitation for accountants who undertake strategic tasks such as auditing and financial reporting. Those with at least 10 years of experience will be eligible for a green passport.
The path to a green passport is opening for certified public accountants and sworn-in financial advisors. A new legislative proposal submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey envisions granting these professional groups the right to obtain a special stamped passport, provided they have at least 10 years of professional seniority.
The bill, prepared by Future Party (Gelecek Partisi) İzmir Deputy and Deputy Chairman Mustafa Bilici, aims to eliminate the visa problems faced by those practicing the accounting and financial advisory profession, particularly during international travel.
The proposal aims to encourage accountants and financial advisors to participate more easily in international meetings and to play a more active role in foreign-based professional activities.
Experts operating in the field of accounting and financial advisory undertake many strategic tasks such as auditing, financial reporting, tax returns, and combating the informal economy. They frequently need to travel abroad to carry out these duties effectively at an international level. A green passport would eliminate the visa requirement, making such travel faster and more practical.
ON THE PARLIAMENTARY AGENDA
The proposal, which has been submitted to the Interior Affairs Commission, will be discussed in the General Assembly of Parliament in the coming days. If enacted, certified public accountants and sworn-in financial advisors with at least 10 years of seniority will be entitled to a special stamped passport.
