Prosecutor of the Dilan Polat case, Gökalp Kökçü, has retired
Gökalp Kökçü, the prosecutor in the Dilan Polat case, who is being tried while in custody for money laundering, tax evasion, and fraud, has retired.
A new development has occurred in the Dilan Polat case, which has occupied the public agenda for a long time.
The prosecutor of the case, Gökalp Kökçü, has retired.
Journalist Barış Terkoğlu stated in a post on X that the HSK (Council of Judges and Prosecutors) had accepted Kökçü's request.
Terkoğlu noted the following:
"Prosecutor G.K., who has recently been frequently in the news regarding the Dilan Polat file and who complained to the HSK about files he was asked to close at the Istanbul Courthouse, had submitted his retirement petition following reports showing his wife's past connection to the Oktar Group. Today, the HSK accepted the request and issued a retirement decision regarding Prosecutor G.K.
The prosecutor of the Dilan Polat file, who had been reassigned to Erzurum, has thus left the profession."
