Prosecutor presents final opinion: 10th hearing begins in Amasra mine disaster trial
The 10th hearing of the trial involving 23 defendants over the explosion that claimed the lives of 43 workers in the Amasra mine disaster has begun. The prosecutor has requested heavy prison sentences for the defendants.

The 10th hearing of the trial involving 23 defendants, 4 of whom are in custody, regarding the explosion that occurred at the TTK Amasra Establishment on October 14, 2022, which resulted in the loss of 43 miners' lives, began today at the Bartın Courthouse.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor presented their final opinion. The prosecutor found the defendants responsible and requested that they be punished according to the articles in the indictment.
A group, including Amasra Mayor Recai Çakar and Press Council President Pınar Türenç, held a press statement in front of the courthouse.
The detained and non-detained defendants, complainants, lawyers for the parties, and relatives of the miners who lost their lives in the disaster were also present in the courtroom.
In the case, prison sentences of 1,062 years each are being requested for the 4 detained defendants for the crimes of 'homicide with probable intent' and 'injury with probable intent.' For the non-detained defendants, prison sentences of up to 22 years are being sought for the crime of 'injury with probable intent.'
