In a statement released on its official social media account, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation has been launched into posts claiming that 'Ekrem İmamoğlu is banned from meeting with members of parliament' on the grounds of 'publicly disseminating misleading information.' 

The statement included the following remarks: 

"It has been observed that posts have been made on some social media accounts claiming that Ekrem İMAMOĞLU, one of the defendants in the case file numbered 2025/318 at the Istanbul 40th High Criminal Court, has been banned from meeting with Members of Parliament.

The visitation rights of all detainees and convicts held in our penal institutions are being fully exercised within the framework of the legislation, and the content of the aforementioned posts does not reflect the truth.

An investigation has been initiated by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the users of the social media accounts where the posts were made, under Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK). 

Respectfully announced to the public.”
