Prostitution operation at massage parlor
In a prostitution operation conducted by police against massage parlors in Edirne, 15 suspects were detained. During the raids, hidden compartments and a bell system installed to evade inspections drew attention.
Teams from the Edirne Police Department's Public Security and Intelligence Branches detained 15 suspects in a large-scale operation targeting massage parlors in the city. Investigations revealed that some of these parlors were operating outside their legal activities, providing premises for and facilitating prostitution.
HIDDEN COMPARTMENTS AND BELL SYSTEM IN PARLORS
Following three months of technical and physical surveillance, police teams conducted simultaneous raids on 5 massage parlors. During the operation, it was discovered that some parlors had hidden compartments and a bell system installed to counter inspections. It was learned that this system was used to signal police raids.
15 suspects were detained during the raids. Among the suspects is an individual with a finalized prison sentence of 11 years, 1 month, and 10 days for the crime of 'robbery.' Additionally, it was determined that another suspect, who had an outstanding arrest warrant for 'armed robbery' and 'deprivation of liberty,' was also apprehended in the operation.
During the searches conducted during the raids, digital materials revealing the victimization of women working in the parlors, sexually explicit products, and documents used as appointment books were seized. Following the operation, 29 women working in the parlors were summoned to provide statements as victims. Furthermore, interviews were conducted with 19 individuals identified as having engaged in or having been solicited for prostitution in order to obtain information.
DETAILS OF THE OPERATION
Teams affiliated with the Edirne Police Department stated that with this operation conducted to prevent prostitution activities, massage parlors operating illegally were exposed. Judicial proceedings have been initiated against the suspects.
