Halk TV was protested in the Turkish Parliament (TBMM) following the appointment of a trustee to the channel. According to a report by Nefes, YENİ Party deputies reacted to the decision during the Planning and Budget Committee meeting by covering their eyes and mouths with black tape.
It was reported that police teams went to the channel in the morning and conducted a search at Halk TV. In a statement regarding the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was announced that detention orders were issued for 17 people, including channel executives, and that 11 people have been detained.

Speaking during the protest at the committee, YENİ Party Istanbul Deputy Özgür Karabat reacted by stating that the decision regarding Halk TV coincided with other debates on the agenda.
"The conscience of the nation is greater than your oppression. I once again condemn the operation against Halk TV."
Karabat argued that they are trying to silence one of the news channels on a day when developments regarding the fund scandal and Ekrem İmamoğlu's defense are being discussed. The YENİ Party group continued its protest with black tape on the committee benches.
