Protest at AKP MP's mine: Executives and lawyers detained

In the Soma district of Manisa, the resistance that began after the dismissal of 7 workers who unionized at the mining facility owned by the Fernas Group, which belongs to AKP MP Ferhat Nasıroğlu, continues. A vigil started in front of Nasıroğlu's hotel to support the workers was intervened in. 

Police and gendarmerie teams detained the executives and lawyers of the Independent Mining Workers' Union who were keeping watch.

The Independent Mining Workers' Union announced the development on its social media account, stating that they would continue to support the workers.

The mine workers in Soma expressed their determination to continue the struggle for their right to unionize.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The resistance, which began with the dismissal of 7 workers who unionized against inhumane working conditions at the mining facility owned by the Fernas Group, has been ongoing for days.

The Independent Mining Workers' Union had brought the poor working conditions of the miners in Soma to the public agenda via social media.
