Protest for Hilal Özdemir at Boğaziçi University

A group of students at Boğaziçi University's South Campus held a march yesterday evening for 15-year-old Hilal Özdemir, who was killed by Ayberk Kurtuluş, an individual with a criminal record of 24 offenses. Hilal Özdemir's uncle, Fahri Özdemir, criticized campus security and those responsible for the incident in harsh terms during the funeral ceremony:

"Our 15-year-old dear one is gone. He had 24 crimes. He comes and kills my niece, then kills himself. The only thing I am angry about is that a normal person cannot enter that campus. How does this man enter with that weapon? We will pursue this; we will not leave it at that. This child was even beating his own father; he didn't even come to claim his body."
