Protests against the detention of numerous figures, including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, continue across Turkey.
While tensions occasionally arise between police and protesters during the demonstrations, colorful scenes continue to emerge from the protests, which see high participation from students. While it was noted that protesters took to the squares with humorous signs as well as costumes of cartoon characters, the sight of police in Antalya chasing a protester wearing a costume of the Pikachu character from the 'Pokemon' cartoon became a trending topic on social media.
While a large crowd was seen at the protest organized for Ekrem İmamoğlu in the Muratpaşa district of Antalya, law enforcement officers, who used pepper spray to disperse the demonstrators, chased the protester in the Pokemon costume for a long time.
