Public lawsuit filed against CHP Marmaris Mayor Ünlü
A public lawsuit has been filed against 5 people, including CHP Marmaris Mayor Acar Ünlü and other CHP officials, for resisting a public official and publicly insulting a public official due to their duty, following a protest on March 19 in front of the Muğla Courthouse against the detention of Ekrem İmamoğlu.
The investigation launched by the Muğla Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the events that took place on March 19 at 14:00 during a protest in front of the Muğla Courthouse against the detention of former Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has been completed.
It has been learned that within the scope of the investigation, a public lawsuit has been filed against Marmaris Mayor Acar Ünlü for resisting a public official and publicly insulting a public official due to their duty; against Marmaris Municipality Private Security Supervisor Ahmet Cemay Kocahan for resisting a public official; against Marmaris Municipality press staff member Yağız Kalakoğlu for resisting a public official; against CHP Muğla Provincial Vice President Mehmet Barut for resisting a public official; and against CHP Muğla Youth Branch Provincial President Nazım Şardoğan for resisting a public official and qualified assault against a public official.
During the incident on March 19, footage showing Mayor Ünlü walking towards the police and hitting a police shield with his hands while saying, "Why are you spraying, you immoral man? I am the mayor," had drawn backlash.
