Public Prosecutor Ercan Kayhan's body at the Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue! New details regarding the suspect
The body of Public Prosecutor Ercan Kayhan, who was killed in a knife attack in Ömerli, Çekmeköy, has been taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue. It has emerged that the 19-year-old suspect, Mustafa Can Gül, has a criminal record for 3 separate offenses.
The incident occurred around 21:15 in the Ömerli neighborhood. Ercan Kayhan, who served at the Çağlayan Courthouse, was stabbed in the throat by 19-year-old Mustafa Can Gül at a restaurant in Ömerli.
Upon notification, police, gendarmerie, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Investigations conducted by the teams determined that Prosecutor Ercan Kayhan had lost his life at the scene.
The 19-year-old suspect, Mustafa Can Gül, was taken into custody by the responding teams. While an investigation into the incident has been launched by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the body of the murdered Public Prosecutor Ercan Kayhan was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue.
It was learned that Mustafa Can Gül, whose interrogation continues at the Ömerli Gendarmerie Station, has a criminal record for 3 separate offenses.
