Public transport services to be free on May 1st announced
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Marmaray, Başkentray, İZBAN, and several other rail systems will provide free service on May 1st, Labor and Solidarity Day.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated in a written statement that urban rail systems affiliated with the Ministry will provide free service on May 1st.
Emphasizing that free transportation is provided through a Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette on April 26th, Uraloğlu said, "In Istanbul, Marmaray, the Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme rail system line, and the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy metro; in Ankara, Başkentray; and in İzmir, İZBAN will offer our citizens fast, easy, and economical transportation throughout the day."
