Public transport will be free on October 29
According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, metro and rail system lines in Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir will be free of charge on October 29, Republic Day.
The decision regarding free public transport on October 29, Republic Day, has been published in the Official Gazette with the signature of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Accordingly, the free service will cover trips on Başkentray, Marmaray, İZBAN, the Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System line, and the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy Metro Line.
