Published in the Official Gazette: 316 mining sites to be auctioned
The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has opened tenders for 316 mining sites. The decision was published in the Official Gazette.
According to the decision published in the Official Gazette yesterday (December 20), the areas put up for tender include cities that make significant contributions to the economy through their natural resources, forest areas, history, and summer tourism.
According to a report by Cumhuriyet, while resistance continues in Akbelen against the tree felling by Limak—one of the companies referred to by the opposition as the 'gang of five'—tenders have now been opened for Yatağan and Seydikemer.
In Antalya, one of the favorite provinces for summer tourism, mining tenders will be opened for 15 different areas.
Mining activities will also be carried out in Mersin and İzmir, which are important cities in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions. Black Sea provinces will also be affected by mining activities.
Ordu and Sinop are among the provinces where mining tenders will be held.
