Put up for sale by the SSI: Here is the asking price for the plane that hasn't left home in three years

The Airbus 321-231 passenger aircraft, which was seized in exchange for the debts of Onur Air following its bankruptcy process, has been put up for sale again by the Social Security Institution (SSI). The estimated value determined for the plane, which has not been sold for approximately three years, is now 150 million TL.

OFFERS WILL BE COLLECTED UNTIL JUNE 10

The SSI has issued a new notice for this asset, which has been difficult to dispose of for a long time. According to information reported by Nefes, the bid collection process will continue until June 10, 2025. Offers submitted by this date will be evaluated, and subsequently, a sales process via negotiation will be initiated.

THE INITIAL VALUATION WAS 80 MILLION TL

The aircraft in question was first put up for sale in September 2022. The estimated value determined at that time was 80 million TL. This corresponded to approximately 4.3 million dollars at the exchange rate of that day. However, despite this price, no buyers emerged.

The SSI most recently added the plane to the sales list on December 10, 2024. A new notice was published with a six-month bidding period. During this process, the value of the plane was set at 150 million TL + VAT. Since the specified VAT rate is 20 percent, the total amount the buyer would pay in the event of a 150 million TL bid reaches 180 million TL.

SEIZED IN EXCHANGE FOR DEBTS

The Airbus 321-231 type aircraft was seized by the Social Security Institution in exchange for the debts owed to the state by the bankrupt Onur Air. However, the plane could not be sold despite all attempts made to date. The SSI has initiated the sales process once again in order to convert this asset into cash and collect its receivables.
