Question from Selim Temurci to the AKP: 'Are you aware of who you are equating the Pope with?'

The hymn performed during the welcoming ceremony held at the Presidential Complex for Pope Leo XIV, as well as the attire worn by the women in the choir, has caused discomfort within the AKP camp, and reactions to these images continue to come from various figures.

Pointing to the lyrics of the hymn, which was written for the Prophet Muhammad, former Future Party deputy Selim Temurci expressed the discomfort that this choice has caused and will continue to cause.

Expressing his reaction with the words, "What kind of unconsciousness is it to welcome the Pope with a hymn that is on all of our tongues," Temurci used the following expressions:

Are you aware of who you are equating the Pope, who came to hold a mass in Nicaea 1700 years later, with?
