Raided following a tip-off, 44 illegal migrants found on luxury yacht
Off the coast of Marmaris, Muğla, a 15-meter yacht attempting to travel to Italy illegally was intercepted by gendarmerie and coast guard teams. 44 irregular migrants and 3 organizers were apprehended on the yacht.
Acting on a tip-off, gendarmerie and coast guard teams conducted an operation off the coast of the Orhaniye neighborhood in the Marmaris district of Muğla.
According to a report by Yaşar Anter from Sözcü, the 15-meter yacht, which had set sail in the morning to travel to Italy illegally, was intercepted. A search of the yacht resulted in the apprehension of 44 irregular migrants and 3 organizers.
Following their statements, the migrants were handed over to the Muğla Provincial Directorate of Migration Management, while the three organizers were arrested by the court and sent to prison.
