Reaction from DEM Party's Beştaş to Engin Polat decision

An interim decision has been announced in the Polat case, which is being closely followed by Turkey.

There are no longer any detainees in the trial of the couple Dilan and Engin Polat, who were accused of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes," "laundering assets derived from crime," and "violating the Law on the Regulation of Betting and Games of Chance."

In the hearing held at the Anatolian 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance, a release order was issued for the 4 detained defendants: Engin Polat, Sezgin Polat, Alper Kürşat Polat, and accountant Ahmet Gün.

The decision in the Polat case drew a reaction from the DEM Party.

Following the decision to release the detained defendants, DEM Party Erzurum MP Meral Danış Beştaş drew attention to Emine Şenyaşar's quest for justice.

Şenyaşar's husband was murdered, and two of her sons remain imprisoned. Beştaş stated, "While criminals are free, those seeking rights are imprisoned. Do those who contribute to justice reaching this state have no sense of shame?"

The full text of Beştaş's post is as follows:

"#EmineŞenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered and one son is still imprisoned, has been fighting for justice for years!

Justice, which remains silent in the face of mother Emine's righteousness, has released Dilan and Engin Polat, who were arrested with great fanfare!

Number 1 in the news!

This is the point where words fail in a country where criminals are free and those seeking rights are imprisoned!

Freedom for money launderers, thieves, fraudsters, murderers, and drug dealers; punishment for those seeking rights and justice! Is this the balance of the country!? Are those who remain silent about this situation aware of the pit they are pushing the country into?!

Do those who contribute to justice reaching this state have no sense of shame?!

They do not see the hundreds of patients in prisons facing death!

From beginning to end, it is decay, hypocrisy, double standards..."
