Reaction from İzzet Çapa to Ahmet Hakan's column: 'Seek hope for the future in the honorable children of this nation'

One of these reactions came from the well-known entrepreneur and marketer İzzet Çapa.

In a post on his social media account, Çapa reacted to Ahmet Hakan's statements with the following words:

He said that it is easy to say the sentence "Abdullah Öcalan is a baby killer" and that it contains no responsibility or hope. What is going on, Ahmet? Did you confuse taking responsibility with pinning your hopes on a baby killer? This fact is etched into our brains like a nail: Abdullah Öcalan is a baby killer. This reality will neither change with your wordplay nor can it be cast aside under the pretext of 'bracing for future reactions.'

Stating that his understanding of nationalism does not involve paving the way for the pardon of terrorist organization leaders, Çapa continued:

"In this country, nationalism is not about paving the way for the pardon of a terrorist who has taken innocent lives. True nationalism is not trampling on the memory of martyrs in the name of 'hope'.

My advice to you is, if you are looking for hope for the future, do not look for it in baby killers, but in the honorable children of this nation!"

Criticism directed at Ahmet Hakan was not limited to İzzet Çapa. Many users on social media described Hakan's column as "unprincipled" and a "disrespect to the memory of the martyrs."

The fact that the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı) is entering a new opening process linked to the discussions surrounding Abdullah Öcalan continues to be at the center of criticism from the opposition and the public.
