Reaction to Bahçeli's 'Treasury share' remarks from the 'absolute nullity' administration: IYI Party reminder issued
Müslim Sarı, spokesperson for the CHP under the administration returned via an 'absolute nullity' ruling, reacted sharply to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's statement that it would be ethical to transfer a share of Treasury aid in proportion to the number of deputies who move to a new party. An IYI Party reminder was issued to Bahçeli.
Müslim Sarı, spokesperson for the CHP under the administration that returned to power following an 'absolute nullity' ruling, reacted to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's statement that it would be ethical to transfer a share of Treasury aid in proportion to the number of deputies who move to a new party by asking, "Why did you not express the same 'ethical' approach during the establishment process of the IYI Party?"
Bahçeli had stated, "A new party is emerging from within the CHP. It would be ethical to transfer a share of the 1 billion 815 million liras paid to the CHP from the Treasury in 2026, in proportion to the number of deputies who leave the CHP and join the new party."
Sarı used the following expressions in his statement regarding the matter on his social media account:
"MHP Chairman Mr. Devlet Bahçeli issued an 'ethical' warning regarding the Treasury aid our party will receive in his statement to journalists today.
One must ask him the following questions: Why did you not express the same 'ethical' approach during the establishment process of the IYI Party? Or are you seeking to support the economic distress of those who are attempting to divide the CHP?"
