Reactionary Yeni Akit targets Yavaş: 'His file is ready, next is Mansur Yavaş'

Following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, the pro-government newspaper Yeni Akit did not hold back, writing that it is now Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş's turn.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into the İBB regarding 'terrorism' and 'corruption.' As part of the investigation, İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was detained yesterday morning in a dawn operation.

The reactionary, anti-republican and anti-secular newspaper Yeni Akit targeted ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş following İmamoğlu's detention.

In an article published on Yeni Akit's website, the headline "His file is ready, next is Mansur!" was used.
