Reason for Kick access ban revealed: No notification from BTK!

Live streaming platform Kick has issued its first statement following the access ban imposed on the site.

The statement indicated that the reason for the access ban was gambling-related broadcasts.

The Kick team announced that the gambling category will be banned for users connecting from Turkey.

Furthermore, they stated that the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) had not made any request for them to remove gambling-related content and that the access ban was implemented without any prior warning.

Kick stated that, in line with the BTK's request, it would ban the casino section within the site for users connecting from Turkey within 24 hours.

Following the lack of an explanation for the access ban, Kick's statement on the matter shed light on the situation. However, no official statement had been made by the BTK or other official institutions regarding the issue.

In recent weeks, the claim by İbrahim Haskoloğlu that an investigation had been launched into Kick had come to the fore, a claim which was denied by Kick streamer Şükrü Şentürk. However, recent developments have shown that Haskoloğlu's claim was correct, and it was learned that the General Directorate of the National Lottery Administration had issued an access ban decision for Kick. This decision was announced on the BTK's website, and users began to lose access to Kick.
