Footage captured on a mobile phone by 65-year-old Hatay native Mustafa Karavapur, a survivor of the shipwreck off the coast of Kyrenia in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, shortly before the ship sank, has emerged.

In the recording made by Karavapur, who had boarded the ship to return to his hometown of Hatay from the TRNC where he was vacationing, the sea is seen to be rough and the ship is shaking violently. The footage includes moments where Karavapur expresses his concern regarding the condition of the boat.

It was stated that after recording these words, Karavapur went up to the upper deck of the ship. Rescued by a boat after the ship sank, Karavapur returned to the Reyhanlı district of Hatay following the completion of his legal procedures in the TRNC.

The emerging footage revealed the panic experienced on the ship and the danger felt by the passengers just before the accident.
