Regulation on real estate trade amended

In a statement regarding the regulatory change, the Ministry of Trade said, "Our efforts to establish a fair, competitive, and stable market structure in the real estate sector and to prevent consumer grievances continue unabated.

In this context, real estate listings on advertising platforms are being closely monitored, and necessary administrative sanctions are being imposed on real estate businesses found to be making manipulative price increases that disrupt market balance," the statement said.

Stating that price increases inconsistent with general economic data are prohibited, the statement continued: "At this stage, in order to prevent exorbitant and manipulative price increases in the real estate sector, it has become necessary to amend the Regulation on Real Estate Trade. With the regulatory change prepared in this direction and which entered into force on May 30, 2025, it has been prohibited for real estate owners to make price increases on real estate listings provided online that are inconsistent with general economic data and not based on a justifiable reason; furthermore, it has been explicitly regulated that real estate businesses cannot mediate such listings. With this regulation, not only real estate businesses but also the owners of the real estate subject to such listings may face administrative sanctions."

Noting that the amendment combats opportunism in the real estate sector, the statement included the following: "With the aforementioned legislative change, a multi-faceted opportunity to combat opportunism and manipulative price movements in the real estate sector has been provided. As the Ministry of Trade, all necessary measures will continue to be taken to protect the interests of our citizens and to establish a transparent and balanced market structure in the real estate sector."
