Reinstatement order for Lieutenant Demirtaş suspended: Ministry of National Defense appealed

The reinstatement order issued for Lieutenant Deniz Demirtaş has been suspended following an appeal by the Ministry of National Defense.

According to the report in Sözcü, the reinstatement order for Deniz Demirtaş, one of the lieutenants dismissed from the Turkish Armed Forces for chanting the "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" slogan at the Military Academy graduation ceremony, has been suspended.

Under the decision taken upon the Ministry of National Defense's appeal, Demirtaş will not be able to serve until the appellate review is concluded. The appellate court will make the final decision regarding the case.

Deniz Demirtaş was one of the 5 lieutenants who crossed swords and chanted "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" at the Military Academy graduation ceremony, and was dismissed from the TSK for this reason.

The Ankara 21st Administrative Court had previously cancelled the dismissal process with a unanimous decision, and Demirtaş had resumed his duties on March 13. However, following the appeal filed by the Ministry of National Defense against the decision, the execution of the reinstatement order was suspended.
