As part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 13 people, including Ali Kaya, the brother of Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu, wife of Ekrem İmamoğlu, were arrested on February 6.
All of Ali Kaya's drug tests had come back negative. However, the prosecutor's office had prepared an indictment against Kaya on charges of "trading or supplying drugs or stimulant substances."
Ali Kaya appeared before the judge in his 7th month of detention.
According to Halktv, at the hearing held at the Bodrum 2nd High Criminal Court, the court panel ruled that there was insufficient suspicion to continue Kaya's detention.
RELEASE DECISION
The court decided to release Ali Kaya on the condition that a travel ban be imposed.
No statement has yet been made regarding the status of other suspects within the scope of the investigation.
