Release decision for Avcılar Mayor Çaykara
The court has issued a release decision for Avcılar Mayor Utku Caner Çaykara.
The Istanbul 1st High Criminal Court, hearing the case regarding the "Aziz İhsan Aktaş Criminal Organization" in the courtroom opposite the Marmara Closed Penal Institution, conducted a review of detention status via the case file. The trial involves 200 defendants, 7 of whom are in custody, including 7 mayors, 6 of whom have been suspended from their duties.
The court ruled for the continued detention of Seyhan Mayor Oya Tekin, her husband, lawyer Celal Tekin, Adıyaman Deputy Mayor Ceyhan Kayhan, Avcılar Deputy Mayor Erhan Daka, and Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat.
The court also issued a release decision for Avcılar Mayor Utku Caner Çaykara and Seyhan Municipality Cleaning Affairs Manager Özcan Zenger, with the condition of a travel ban.
