Released IMM executive reappointed to his position
Yavuz Saltık, who was suspended from his position as Head of the Department of Neighborhood Affairs at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, has returned to his office following an official decision.
Yavuz Saltık, Head of the Department of Neighborhood Affairs at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), has returned to his post at the municipality following the conclusion of his suspension period. Saltık, who had been away from his duties since May 23, 2025, announced on social media that the precautionary suspension order had been lifted.
Saltık stated that the process had concluded through legal and administrative channels. Following the approval granted by the Mayor's Office on May 25, 2026, and an official letter prepared by the Department of Human Resources and Training, Saltık resumed his duties as Head of the Department of Neighborhood Affairs as of June 19, 2026.

Addressing his colleagues and the people of Istanbul after his reinstatement, Saltık said in his statement, "I will continue my duty with the same responsibility and determination to serve Istanbul and our fellow citizens in the best possible way, together with all my colleagues."
Yavuz Saltık had been suspended on May 23, 2025, as part of an investigation into the IMM, and was subsequently released during a hearing on June 18, 2026.
